Sweltering and Simmering

Across the country
The mercury rises high
Something's wrong with our  world
The pollution now
Is getting to us all here
The weather is all  messed up
Tornadoes up north
Giant southern hurricanes here
What will  come of us all if
We burn the bridges
The Rubicon is coming
will we  cross it when it does
The Icebergs now melt
The oceans are rising  now
Our shores will surely vanish
What will we do then
When our  country fades away
Sinking into the ocean
Earths lungs are dying
The  earth; becoming barren
There will be nowhere to  hide
