In Your Words

Patricia Kelly

a beach at twilight
solitary young people
dance in the shallows

* * * *

full moon blues
a golden percheron
graces the calendar

* * * *

her sunflower poem
their big brown eyes
in my dream

* * * *

wild flowers
fill the little yard
missing the roses

* * * *

dark earth
clings to the roots
limp wild flowers

* * * *

early morning snow
rare city silence
unbroken

* * * *

hot laundromat
she speaks Korean
I use hand gestures

* * * *

sunny spring day –
squinting to read poems
in a dingy bar

* * * *

spring cleaning –
my spider web
mustache

* * * *

she bends over
to retrieve the coin
too much information

* * * *

cat olympics
every shadow, something
to startle at

* * * *

white flowered
dream tree:
waking to spring rain

* * * *
