In Your Words

Pamela MacBean

stalking
wet marshes -
cattails

snow bleaching
forest floor -
whitewash

tornado alley -
the wind gets
a strike

heartbeat
of summer -
crickets

the wind dancing
up a storm -
tornado

a rusted muffler
alone on the road...
frost heaves

dragonflies
scraping the sky...
twilight

a dog cringes
at thunder -
torn screen

on my toothbrush
ladybugs crawl -
autumn chill

in a quiet house
crickets sing...
night frost

nightmares
escaping dawn...
bat wings

cash registers
hungry in Vermont...
maple syrup

Venus dots
the horizon...
astral asterisk

Butter and Eggs -
wild flower
cholesterol free
