In Your Words

Jan Oskar Hansen

A white cygnet swam

In a pond ringed by quartz

As quiet rain fell

Vibrating fervour
Wafting across dry fields

Killing red roses

Haiku Ouzo on the rocks

Makes Greek fillies lovely
Long before midnight

Hoofs on snowy ground
Herbivorous' fragrant mist

Bell jingling harness

When April rain falls
And washing outside gets wet
Mother doesn't mind.

Nothing smells as good
As rainfall on grassland

On a sizzling day

Sharpened pencil,

Waiting for sagacious words.
Pencil, cleaning ears

Cattle graze on fields
We graze on succulent steaks.
Leather upholstery.

A rabbit's blue eyes
Beady swam in greasy gravy.
Rabbit's foot for luck

Chicken eat earthworms Cluck
and don't know its destiny.
Deep-fried drumsticks.

Rolling in the mud
Trotters' ankle deep in crap.
Pork chops on a slab.
