In Your Words

Christine Bruness

autumn evening
hearing the campfire hiss
from the rain's kisses

October morning
fog rolls across the graveyard
or: phantoms dancing?

high school marathon
runners vanish in the mist
of the foggy morn

glass jack-o-'lantern
smashed to pieces by goblins
this Halloween night

swarms of white & gray
soaring in the twilight...
sky of seagulls

blustery fall day~
mailman chases the letter
blowing in the wind

In the backyard,
green eyes peering from the bush
kitty is stalking me!

apple pie baking
fills the air with cinnamon
this autumn Sunday

Stormy evening
lighting a dozen candles
for an ancient flame.

autumn shore trip
alone on the beach amongst
an ocean of ghosts

watching the candle
struggle against the draft...
suddenly darkness

Surfing the web,
from site to link to more sites--
information overdose!

Outside the window,
soft calls from a mourning dove
transport me to peace.

vegetarian
tries to resist temptation
of sizzling sausage

Autumn evening~
soft moonlight illuminates
the small spider's web.
