In Your Words

Andrew Crane

Sleeping Disorder

Shadows on the wall,
I cannot sleep with them there,
I turn on the light.

I hate my job

I sit at my desk
Screensaver flashes windows
The lights have gone out

Nothing

The world is at war,
Beauty can't last for ever,
But chaos seems to.

Singing bowls

Tap the bowls gently,
They can sing in perfect tune,
Purple flashes out.

cosmetic Surgery

Scalpel steal gleams bright
Glides across the skin like ice
Bad blood is released

Alone

Salt stains the pant cuff,
Shoes sinking into the mud,
The cars drive away.

Fire

Leaves fall to the ground,
They are racked into a pile,
A match will light it.

Campfire

Browning marshmallows
turning slowly on a stick
I camp by the lake

Danger

The bear snaps a twig
It echoes through the forest
His growl splits my ears

Contemplation

The feather floats down

The air around me stiffens

I can’t hear a sound
